Dr Sharita is an American born Ghanaian based pan-africanist
who since arriving in Ghana last 13 years, has being intensely trying to
promote the African Agenda. She is a Naturopathic healer who believes that the
African will do better if we pay closer attention to what we feed our body,
soul and minds ; hence another episode of her regularly organised event ,
" African Cultural and Wellness Festival" , happening on the 7th and
9th of February .
When the Host of the Good Morning Africa Show ,Kwabena Bibini
Tawiah, asked Dr. Sharita why she chose to come stay in Ghana instead of any other African
country, she commented , " Ghana seduced me."
She mentioned how she
at one time went to a Ghana Expo event at Atlanta where she performed with her
dance group ,"Uhura dance group" in the presence of the Ashanti King
of that time. She thought she and her dance group had performed great until she
saw the Ghanaians do their act with the huge drums and all.
She was mesmerized.
She soon after came to
Ghana with her mom and dad , along with other people, on a tour. On the tour a friend suddenly felt
unwell and was taken to rest at the home of one of the hosts; and this gave her
a feel of how it fells be to be an actual resident in Ghana.
It was then that she started considering permanently moving
to Ghana.
she has moved to Ghana for almost 13 good years, and has since being here,
encouraging other African Americans to be here too.
