Ghanaians
entered into the year 2014 with a lot of expectations, ranging from butter
life-style, strong economy uninterrupted power supply etc, etc and I know my
readers at this time will be saying “Tweeaaaaa, Tweeaaaaa because what is the
values of, these list of expectations without good health? Yes good health, the
number one wish.

Ghana
at the moment is at the verge of passing the GMO bill into law; a law which’s
implementation will have a very bad effect on the nation’s health. But God
knowing the end from the beginning, has given us the best antidote to the
negative effects GMOs will bring on us, (Laughter) which is said to boost the
human immune system than ant medicine, by kind courtesy, Hon. Tweeaa
The
D.C.E of Ahafo Ano South, Hon. Gabriel Barima the Mahama of the area, recently
forgot that 2016 is not far from here and that, he should have acted like a
typical Ghanaian politician who turn blind eye to murder and anything alien to
the Ghanaian and African culture, in the name of retaining power.
Per
the definition and the interrogation of the Akan word ‘Tweeaaa’, I will not be
afraid to say, Ghanaians are now totally assimilated not knowing the ins and
outs of our language which form part of our culture.
I
used to hate Twi morning shows on radio because; they sometimes make you feel
like Ghana is going to war the next seconds. But Kwame Nkrumah Tikese3 of Okay
FM is giving me more than a reason to listen to radio in a language in which I
will understand with my heart instead of my head “the late Mandela”
My
usual way of updating myself with the latest news in town is going to face book
to read the various headlines from online news centers like my joy, peace,
AdomFm and the rest.
But
this one was a different source, this time around; Manase Azure Awuni’s
facebook wall was so humorous, as the boy from Bongo was asking if what he was
seeing was one of the usual movies made in Kumasi. But as the bible will put
it, lo and behold, it was the Hon. D.C.E of Ahafo Ano South now a.k.a “who said
Tweeaa”
Now why
Kwame Nkrumah Tikese3 saved Hon. Tweeaaa
Anyone
watching the video for the first time may blame the president for not checking
the man’s level of tolerance before appointing him as a reprehensive of
government. On the other hand, the Hon. Man wanted to tell that young man who
said ‘Tweeaa’ that, “the food you didn’t see at your mother’s kitchen, is a
forbidden one”
Yes
if you’ve been doing this to your co-equals and they are ok, the Hon D.C.E is
not a co-equal
What
is the meaning of “Tweeeeeeaaa” then?
According
to Kwame Nkrumah Tekesi3, Tweeaa is an Akan word which was derived from the
word “Otweeaa” which in turns means Okraman, meaning a dog. These revelations
came to bare when the linguistically experienced morning show host took time to
explain to his audience the meaning and the origin of the word Tweeeeaaa.
He
further explained, whenever someone tells you the word “Tweeaaa”, he or she is
trying to say you are behaving like a dog like seriously? The ministry of local government and rural
development launched an investigation into the most famous and stress releasing
word of the year 2014.
Investigation
for what? The meaning of the word?, who said it (Tweeaa) or why did he respond?
All the above are worth investigating into but I personally believe government informants
who listen to Okay FM advised H.E the president to forgive the man looking at
the degree of insult that single word “Tweeaa” contains and this is how the
face of okay FM saved the man who could not act like a cat.
To Mr. Nkrumah, I say this segment of your
show will go a long way to maintain our rich culture and I think your special
segment needs a special sponsorship to enable you, bring it to your listeners
unabated.
Now the facts of the matter, the
moral and the ethical lessons we can get from Tweeaaaaa
Since
this good, unfortunate term for 2014 came out, we, all interested in making
ourselves happy with it, most importantly as it helps to forget about the
galloping fuel price adjustment and the cidi’s escape form spiritual arrest we
face these days.
One
of the lessons we can get from this controversy, brings the practical meaning
of ethics to mind if one analyze the meaning of “Teeaa” .yes the unidentified young
man shouldn’t have said that to the D.C.E but, ethics tells us to hold our
breath in situations like this especially when one is in a respected position
of this nature.
Another
fact worth noticing in this case is the issue of calling a spade a spade and
not a big spoon, in other words, the boy have said it and there is absolutely
nothing wrong with what he said. I may be sounding contradictory here but look
at this: “Tweeaa” means, behaving like a dog and how do dogs behave? Unlike
cats, who will close their eyes to anything they don’t like, dogs will respond
to thing they see or hear and that is just what the Hon. D.C,E did.
In
other words, the quick-temped man can also be considered as a woman with all
respect my dear women, the African and the Ghanaian tradition holds that women
cannot stand provocation a for a time but men can and always should.
But from the video we all watched, it is clear
that, Hon. Barima was actually not reading a speech as he said “take your
program, I’ve finish my speech” he was rather responding to interruptions from
all angels which is so unethical of him.
Our
fathers say,” when, you advice the cat, you should also advice the stinking
fish to stop smelling” though the man acted immaturely, the boy shouldn’t have
said that even though the D.C.E’s action cannot be compared to anything but
that of a dog linguistically, my question to the young man is how will he fell
if that man happen to be his father.
And
to the Ghanaian politicians I’m calling
on them to change the perception the citizenry have about them so that whenever
they are before their subjects the people will put their parents in the
politicians shoes and I believe when that is done, no one will easily insult a
politician just like that.
Until
you hear from me again, my question is how can the Ghana cidi be a co-equal to
the U.S dollar when Arc bishop Duncan Williams refused to arrest dollarization
instead? Tweeaaa. Up next from my pen.
